the subroutines compilation message is given while running the solver and it makes obj files successfully. i have checked in prostar that subroutines are activated.

The script will compile any code in the user subdirectory so the fact that its being compiled is not any indication that it is logically turned on. Perhaps you wrote your .prob file BEFORE you turned on the subroutines? If that isn't the case, its probably a bug and you should call user support. You might also try moving to 4.06.

Does the .run file tell you the subroutine is being used? You should see something like this:

|-> USER FORTRAN CODING USED ------------- | MODIFIED HEAT TRANSFER WALL FUNCTION |

If the user subroutines are being compiled and linked. And the correct switches inside PROSTAR are configured properly. Then the user subroutines should be getting executed. Maybe your user coding has a problem. Try adding some print statements.

Dear Pauli,

As you have written in your comments, my run file shat subroutine is being used. also i am adding some print commands in my subroutine. but unfortunately, those commands are not printed. it is a very strange behaviour ans i am at my wits end to sort out the matter. bye the way, thank you very much for your suggestions and i really appreciate that you guys have looked into this problem.

Which subroutine might this be? If a print command doesn't get printed I'm pretty sure it is not being called upon properly. I also suggest you upgrade to v4.06 as prior v4.0x's seem buggy.
