Sorent.f Heat Source
 

Hi ,

Everybody speaks about sorent.f and other kind of source files in Star Cd . But i want help as in how do i access it .

This is my problem :

if i click "Source--> Enthalpy :ON --> user coding --- > apply and define user coding" ..
i get the following error :

**ERROR - FILE ufile/sorent.f CANNOT BE OPENED
**ERROR - COULD NOT OPEN A SUBROUTINE FILE IN SUBDIRECTORY ufile
THE SUBDIRECTORY MAY NOT EXIST OR THE PERMISSIONS
MAY NOT BE SET APPROPRIATELY

guys , please help me how code the volumetric heat generation for the cells 363624 to 381029 (17,406 cells) with a volumetrice heat generation of 10 w/m3 .
please help me with the code.
I am completely new to it

This part of the error message is telling you what is wrong:
THE SUBDIRECTORY MAY NOT EXIST OR THE PERMISSIONS MAY NOT BE SET APPROPRIATELY

You need to manually create a ufile sub-directory before creating the user code template.

The user & methodology manuals provide guidance regarding creating source terms.

Yeah ! that worked fine ,.. even my guide told me that :D !! !
as you can see .. my exp with starCd is very little .. and its kind of hard ..

can someone tell me how to give heat source to group of cells .. that range from 1000 - 9000 ..
and btw what is CTID and all that stuff ?
