OpenFOAM lagrangian particle tracking solver C++ developer needed

We require a custom OpenFOAM solver for lagrangian particle tracking. The solver itself should be relatively simple for someone with the correct skills. The solver will take as an input:
  • A precomputed velocity vector map
  • The same set of boundary conditions used for the above
The particles themselves are massless and non-interacting (although they may need some interaction of non-positional properties at some later point). They are simply a discretisation of the underlying fluid, allowing for tracking of temporal properties, which are affected by some external field. The particles' positions will only be affected by the underlying velocity map, which is pre-computed.

The solver should allow:
  • Arbitrary properties to be easily included (into the particle class)
  • Easy integration of injection models (this will likely be on a patch)
  • A cell-zone initialisation of particles (so an initial [time = 0] volume are filled with particles

This project will likely have parallels with the post processing streamLine functionality of OpenFOAM.

Code will need to be well documented and written to a high standard. This development work is needed asap, so please contact us if you have the required skills.
