Hi All,
I need help on performing 2D CFD analysis of VAWT. Analysis needs to be carried out for different velocities and AOA. Let me know if any one is interested to help me with this. Further details will be shared later. Thanks. |

I am interested!
I have done airfoil(0012 & 6412) analysis for different AOAs & L/D ratio. Also, i have worked on various other CFD projects. Sent from my iPhone using CFD Online Forum mobile app |

I would love to work on this. I have previous experience of 2D wing simulations using both structured and unstructured grids. I also have experience using code to automatically cycle through all a.o.a.'s and other parameters to make the analysis faster.
I also have overseen work on optimization algorithms used for airfoil design and can use that knowledge too. |

Hi,
I am currently doing my PHD in the fields of aerodynamics at the Institute of Aero- and Gasdynamics in germany and I am CEO of hexatransition, a CFD Research and Consultancy company. Earlier I was research engineer at the R&D Departments of a fan company and was simulating FANS for industrial use and so on. So I have much experience in rotating cases, and so on. During the last 5 years I got plenty experience in external aerodynamics and I can easily help you with your case. If you are interested just leave me a PM and we will discuss the details. Best regards, |

Hi all
I am simulating a 3D VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine). I create my geometry and mesh with Gambit as follow: 1) creating 3D model of airfoils. 2) creating an enclosure (cylinder) around the airfoils. 3) creating a box for the entire flow domain. (second enclosure) In Fluent, i define 3 interfaces. 2 circle faces of inner cylinder and 1 side face of inner cylinder. But after defining interfaces, there are two walls defined for each interface automatically in boundary conditions tab. what is the reason? and what should i do with these walls? they are automatically set to stationary walls. Thanks. |

are you using conformal or non-conformal mesh?
