Need openFOAM freelancer for boat motion by waves.
Hello,
I am building a 3.5 meter long solar powered, rudderless autonomous boat, with the aim of crossing the Pacific Ocean, filming islands on the way. Steering is done by a bow thruster, because a constantly moving rudder is a weak link. This thruster is not very deep in the water. Because of this, I want to fine out under which kind of frontal waves it is not in water; and what is the tilt of boat in that case (the internal computer knows tilt, so can be programmed to stop sailing for a few hours if needed). For this, I am looking for a freelance openFOAM specialist, with maritime experience. The waves seems to be part of openFOAM, as I read here: https://cfd.direct/openfoam/free-software/waves/ I’m thinking of 5 videos of simulations, with 5 different kinds of waves. Something like : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIYT2TbyoeM These should look neat, for youtube, blogging etc. If affordable, maybe waves from the side, so see if/when the boat tips-over (it has a self righting system). I have STEP file of the boat, weight and point of gravity in X, Y and Z. Boat will be sailing at 1.3 m/s. Regards, Cas Theeuwes |
