Regarding popularizing the wiki, I found that google does not show the wiki when I search for "cfd". Of course cfd-online.com is the first result. I noticed that the meta keywords for the wiki main page dont contain "cfd" or "computational fluid dynamics" but cfd-online.com does.

Try the following: finite volume cfd incompressible flow cfd compressible flow cfd parallel computing cfd turbulence modeling cfd ....

i've been trying these variations yesterday and they work fine (2nd or 3rd hit).

But the best, like you said, is to have CFD-Wiki as the first hit.

Good thinking! Google is very very important for all websites these days and in time Google will no doubt be our main source of new visitors.

It takes some time to get into Google though, but the googlebot has been spidering the CFD-Wiki heavily in the last week so I hope that we will score higher soon. But the key to getting high scores in Google is to have lots of external links that point to our site and that of course takes time. But the fact that we are part of CFD Online should help a lot with Google since CFD Online scores high in Google and every page in CFD Online has a top-level menu with links into most key sections of the CFD-Wiki.

The Wiki software automatically selects meta keywords for each page. I don't think that there is a convenient way to somehow manually add keywords for each article in the Wiki. However, I added a few extra default meta keywords that will be on all Wiki pages. In addition to these the wiki software will add more keywords based on page title etc. These are the ones I added:

CFD, CFD-Wiki, Wiki, reference, textbook, fluid dynamics, turbulence, numerics, best-practice, best-practise, paper, article, validation, benchmark, FAQ

Any more suggestions?
