Is it possible to change a CFD-Wiki username?
Hello Jonas,
I guess this question should be addressed to you.. Is it possible to change a CFD-Wiki username? Thank you! |
Re: Is it possible to change a CFD-Wiki username?
i think you can register with new name and ask the admin to delete the one you created before.

Re: Is it possible to change a CFD-Wiki username?
It isn't possible to change your name, if there is a strong wish to add this feature it can be done though. It requires a special add-on to be installed to the Wiki software.
Deleting a user is not possible or advisable though - since the Wiki has full revision control and stores all history deleting a user would mess up this. |

Thank you for an answer. It would be good to have this feature in the future. Is it a problem to install it?

Re: Is it possible to change a CFD-Wiki username?
Dear Jonas, I am still not able to connect to wiki from office, from where i can actually work. Is there any solution to this problem. This problem seems to appear after one day when i saw somebody put lot of spam text in wiki, so i quickly opened few pages and deleted that text and saved the page again. After that i guess i could never be able to access wiki.

Re: Is it possible to change a CFD-Wiki username?
Yes, it is a spam filter which I have installed which prevents non-standard-compliant web-browsers from editing the Wiki (typically most spam-bots fail to be 100% standard compliant). It is very effective against these spam-bot vandals, who were creating a mess in the Wiki.
The error message recorded in the spam-filter logs for your IP number is "Prohibited header 'Proxy-Connection' present". Apparantly this header should not normally be present when accessing the Wiki from a normal browser. I don't know why it is for you. It is most likely an error with how your company's web-proxy is set up. Anyway, I will disable this particular check for now. So it should work for you now. Please let me know otherwise. I'm actually having a similar problem when I try to access the Wiki from my job (Volvo Aero). I think that the reason is some miss-match betweenn IE and Volvo's web-proxy. If I use Mozilla it works! So you might try to use Mozilla or Firefox instead (assuming you are using IE now). I apologize for the problems zxaar! |
