Is it possible to do a fluid flow analysis over a real terrain model with stl file as input

Are you asking if you can simulate flow over terrain defined by a stl file? Sure, why not. ICEM can read .stl files for meshing.

Here's a BIG hint. Initially nothing seemed to be able to do it. I tried all the ANSYS meshing tools and a lot of open source ones but they all crashed. But then the nice guys at LEAP gave me a go of ICEM and I had it meshed in less than an hour. So the only meshing tool I know which can handle this sort of stuff for CFX is ICEM. (And my domain was a lot bigger than 1km x 1km)
