ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction.

I met one problem about CFX-solver, the output file shows:

Could I make sure that this ERROR comes from involved Buoyancy settings? Since we can see this ERROR information appears under the Buoyancy Reference Information, in addition, Mesh etc. information from Output File show well.

You cannot be sure the error is in the buoyancy settings, but I would certainly start checking there. Also you could turn the buoyancy off and see if it runs with out buoyancy.

Thanks for your quick reply!
Good suggestion!
I check the Buoyancy settings as follows:

DOMAIN MODELS:
BUOYANCY MODEL:
Buoyancy Reference Density = 1.185 [kg m^-3]
Gravity X Component = 0 [m s^-2]
Gravity Y Component = -g
Gravity Z Component = 0 [m s^-2]
Option = Buoyant
BUOYANCY REFERENCE LOCATION:
Option = Automatic
END
END

Whether "Gravity Y Component = -g" is the reason for ERROR? I should change into -9.8 m/s2?

Please see my attached Output file, if you have time to help me check, I will be very appreciated!

Many thanks again!

From a quick look I cannot see anything obviously wrong with it. Try running it with buoyancy turned off and see if it goes. Then try turning your radiation model off, then all the other models one at a time until you find the problem. Then you will know what to fix.

Many thanks for your quick reply!
I follow your advice to turn off Buoyancy model, then radiation model, even Turbulence model ...... but it still shows

It is very weird! Since this time I also followed my previous CFD simulations which are running well. Please give me some advices!

Thanks!

Well, don't stop there. Keep turning the heat transfer modell and any other models off until you find it. This means the problem is in your basic setup somewhere, not he advanced models you have used.

Ok, thanks! I will.

Additionally, there is another ERROR showing, Please see the attached figure.

ghorrocks June 6, 2012 08:16

Load up CFX-Pre and it will give you the full description for the 5 errors. This is probably the cause of the whole problem.

Thanks! I correct the 5 errors based on its descriptions. Then the errors disappear. But I get 2 warnings which are attached. Then I define Run and Run, but it still shows the same ERROR like before:
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction.
Message:
Floating point exception: Zero divide

Do you think I should continue turn off all the model or setting?
It indeed drives me nuts!

thanks!

Yes. You still have not found the problem yet, so keep hunting!

Thanks! I find the problem and the solver can run. However, after more than 20 steps, there are other ERROR appearing. Please see the first 3 Attached images. I think my PC memory is not enough to continue running this program. Please give me some advices for that!

And then I try to Define Run and Run Solver anew, however, it shows another ERROR which is fourth Attached image. It said, can't create working file def. But, that .* def file is indeed existing in the corresponding directory.

Could you have some solutions about that?

Many thanks in advance!

ghorrocks June 11, 2012 20:23

This is an unusual error. Have you run out of disk space? Is this a big model? Have you got any unusual things in the simulation (user fortran, profiles etc)?

hi.i am a new user of cfx14. during the solution i got this error.would you please help me.thanks

You have a memory error. Without any context I cannot be more specific. You might have run out of memory or caused some weird condition in the solver.

sh.valadi July 30, 2013 03:34

thanks!I found the problem. I`m trying to simulate a high rise building through wind flow. the problem is with the component of cartesian velocity of the domain of the wind flow. the velocity formula is v=8.75*h^(1/4). "h" is height and "v" is velocity. in the cartesian velocity component value, I write this expression : u: 8.75[m s^-1]*w^1/4[m s^-1] and two other values:0. the problem is with the u value.I don`t know why.please help me.thanks

ghorrocks July 30, 2013 07:35

You cannot raise to the power of a value with units. Try something like this:

v=8.75 [m/s] * (h/1[m])^(1/4)

hi
i have a problem:
The selective body meshing is not being recorded ....
what is this????

ghorrocks January 20, 2014 04:19

I have no idea.

But it sounds like a meshing problem so try the meshing forum.
