How can I get CFX-Solver Manager to display plots of the cumulative moving averages (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving...moving_average) of globally integrated results (e.g. drag coefficient) and results at a point (e.g. velocity at an x,y,z location)? The plots of a CMA should become constant (for my simulations) as a transient simulation progresses and therefore show if a transient simulation has run for a long enough time.

The only way I could see to do this (but CFX-Solver Manager is not showing what I expected when I tested it) was to use Monitor Points with Expressions and include the Monitor Statistics. For point results I have to make two Monitor Points, i.e.: the first at an x,y,z with velocity and the second as an Expression of e.g. probe(Velocity)@Monitor Point 1. The latter so that I can activate the Monitor Point Statistics. However, using this method both the Monitor Points and Arithmetic Average Monitor Points plots are identical in CFX-Solver Manager, so the averaging method is not do what is expected.

Anyone know how to do this? Thanks

If I understood your approach, you already compared the monitor statistics computed by the CFX-Solver on the quantity of interest is identical to the Moving Average computed by the CFX-Solver Manager.

They are two separate functionalities; therefore, the fact they are identical is a sign you may be referring to another type of average.

Would you mind elaborating on the details of how you expect the average to be computed? ,i.e. the mathematical formalism, then someone here may be able to decipher which option in the software may give you the expected behavior.
