Hi everybody,

How can I plot pressure monitor in addition to residual plots while using CFX solver. I tried new monitor tab in workspace but didnt find option to plot pressure value in plot line option.

You have to set up a monitor point which takes the pressure at a point. Then that value will be available at the solver manager.

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for reply. But it is still not very clear to me. I wish to plot Pressure values at inlet, outlet or any section plane in domain to have extra check on convergence apart from residual plots. I can see option to plot mass flow in Workspace--New monitor---Plot line---Flow tab but there is no option for pressure values.
As you told to set monitor point but where to do it and also I am interested in plotting Avg Pressure value on whole boundary and not at particular points. Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

If you want average pressure over a boundary then define a monitor point with the CEL expression something like "areaAve(p)@inlet".

Predefine the monitor in ANSYS CFX Pre
Outline->Expressions, Functions and Variables->Expressions (Right-click) -> Insert->Expression
Definition: areaAve(Pressure)@outlet or areaAve(Pressure)@inlet. [Apply]

Outline->Output Control->Monitor (tab)->Monitor tabs and expression-> New Monitor-> Option: Expression-> Expression Value (Right click & select expression)same as Expression defined.

RUN
In solver,
New Monitor->USER POINT->Monitor defined [check box]
