Hi , I modeled a gas turbine combustor and I want to get Combustor efficiency or performance of it . How can I get that,

should I calculate it manually or I should set an expression ? how can do it and get efficiency result ?

I would use expression for that since i think cannot get it directly from the solver. Do you have an expression you intend to use for your combustion efficiency? If not i would refer you to the book Gas turbine combustion by Arthur Lefebvre. Good luck! Jimmy

Thank you , but I cant find a good expression which use CFX variables .there were some expression that I could`nt find out which one gives me a correct answer .
could you please write that expression and say how can use CFX variables in it.
very very thank you

Sorry that i am just cheking to follow up on your email. I hope that you have found a way out of your problem? If not then you need to give me more info in order for me to be of any help. Why do you want the combustion efficiency and what kind of combustion do you have? Is it premixed, diffusion or partially premixed? If it is premixed and homogeneous i would say u could use the adiabatic flame temperature at the outlet and the amount of fuel you use to gauge how efficient ur combustion is. For example preheating the fuel would mean that you would require less amount of fuel to arrive at the same adiabatic flame temp that a similar case would give you without preheeating but the fuel consumption in the latter would be more. You could also find the thermal effeciency as a way of expression your combustion effeciency. Hope this helps.
