Hello

Hello I want to simulate water entry.but I dont know which software is suitable
1.Ansys
2.Abaqus
3.Dytran
or ...
can you help me?
thank you

Hi

that aren't many informations about the case you want to simulate

for a simple fluid flow:
if u just got a gap where the water flows trough i recommend a fast analytical calculation

my experience with CFD-software:
if the software shouldn't cost anything, the case/geometry isn't too complex, you like Linux ... i could recommend OpenFOAM(with e.g. Gmsh)

since you're already in the Ansys CFX Forum - try that ;)
->in the main very easy to handle ... and comes with useful tutorials

my case is an axisymmetric and streamlined bode.I want its trajectory and cavity simulation.

Sounds like this can be done using the rigid body solver in CFX. CFX support has some demo examples of a float on water bobbing about, that would be a good example to look at.

thank you for your help

But i dont believe that the CFX can be a strong software for dynamics analysis of water entry.is it right?
abaqus is better in this field

This is the CFX forum. What do think I am going to say?

I have no idea if Abaqus can model this sort of thing. I know CFX can. It is not easy, but it can do it.
