Hi
that aren't many informations about the case you want to simulate for a simple fluid flow: if u just got a gap where the water flows trough i recommend a fast analytical calculation my experience with CFD-software: if the software shouldn't cost anything, the case/geometry isn't too complex, you like Linux ... i could recommend OpenFOAM(with e.g. Gmsh) since you're already in the Ansys CFX Forum - try that ->in the main very easy to handle ... and comes with useful tutorials ... |

Sounds like this can be done using the rigid body solver in CFX. CFX support has some demo examples of a float on water bobbing about, that would be a good example to look at.

But i dont believe that the CFX can be a strong software for dynamics analysis of water entry.is it right?
abaqus is better in this field |

This is the CFX forum. What do think I am going to say?
I have no idea if Abaqus can model this sort of thing. I know CFX can. It is not easy, but it can do it. |
