Body of influence issues

Hello,

I have been playing around with 'bodies of influence' (BoI)to try and improve my meshing skills. Things work fine when what I am trying to influence is an enclosure around a solid. But when I try to set a body of influence inside the solid it just doesn't seem to work.

Do BoI only work in enclosures?

I tried with very simple geometry. Literally a cube (frozen) and then a larger cube around it. It lets me set the inner cube as a BoI for the outer but when I generate the mesh there is no difference made!

If anyone can shed some light on this/what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it!

thanks

Susan

Hello,

Im probably not the best person to ask but here is what I know... :-)

What version of ANSYS will you be using? There is a good tutorial on axial rotors in v12 which you should probably work through first. Give it a go and see if it helps. If you have questions after I will try to help!

bhushan - please do not hijkack threads. Start a new thread for your question.

Susan - Your question is probably best asked on the geometry and meshing forum: www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ansys-meshing/
