atleast 50K $. It does not include the price for the parallel processing. For each core you have pay extra dollars. Also for the subsequent years you have to pay the fee for license and support.

hey Thanks for your answer.

I will use it for CFD flow of Wind. Do you have a better one to recommend? i am already using fluent .

Far November 23, 2012 10:20

They offer both codes (Fluent and CFX) with very little amount additional.

You can also try openfoam, it is free, but you may not find the good support.

zaynah04 November 23, 2012 10:22

besides openfoam, what do you recommend?

is windsim acceptable?

Far November 23, 2012 10:24

I only worked with Fluent and CFX, so really cant help in recommending best code. But for wind turbine simulation CFX and Fluent are the market leader, so I will definitely go with CFX (or Fluent as second choice for the rotating machinery)

This price is for commercial license. Educational licenses are very much cheaper with some limitations.

Moreover this information can be not substituted for official price quotation and I have information from my sources. It is to be noted that the price is not final and may vary from region to region and company to company;)

Yes, I suspect the price varies considerably region to region. You should contact your local ANSYS office for your price.

If you are a student there is also the student version. It is significantly limited in the applications it can do (it is limited to quite small models) but it is very cheap and a good introduction to the software.
