Dear friend
Please find the attached tutorial screen shot. I am confusing in the porous domain setting . please clarify my doubts. In the porous domain, I can find three boundaries. 1. housing default 2. inlet side 2 3. outlet side 2 My doubts are in the inlet side 2 and outlet side 2 inlet side2 and outlet side 2 are interface between fluid and porous on porous part . I found that heat transfer option is adiabatic (default setting). if the adiabatic condition is set, no heat transfer will be allowed. Is the setting correct? Kindly give your feedback Thank you |
The adiabatic condition on fluid-porous interfaces means there is no HT from the porous solid to the fluid outside the porous domain. There is still HT from the fluid in the porous domain to fluid outside the domain. Maybe not the most accurate assumption but it works for the purposes of the tutorial. In a real application you will want to work out a HT coefficient if you think there is significant HT from the solid at the interface.
