To output the RANS local mean velocity(Reynolds averaged)
Hi,
I'd like to use the local mean velocity to compute the turbulence intensity of one surface. May I ask could CFX-post output local mean velocity(Reynolds averaged) directly? |
If you are using a RANS turbulence model with an incompressible fluid then the velocities reported are Reynolds averaged velocities. If you are doing a LES or DNS model then you have to be a bit more sophistocated, but I won't go into that unless you actually are doing LES or DNS.
If you are doing a RANS turbulence model with a compressible fluid then the velocities are Fauve averaged. |
Turbulence Intensity at a surface? Velocity at your surface will be 0, and near the wall the flow will be laminar.

I presume the surface she is talking about is defined in CFD-Post across the flow. Because, yes, the turbulence on a wall is zero.
