Hi,

I have a question about the function subdomain in cfx-pre. The general Momentum Source should be realised as a function on the float, but i just can realise a value or expression on this area.. Is it possible to realise the momentum source as a function? and do somebody know how?
Hope its very well described.

Thanks!

Yes, sources can be functions. This is well described in the documentation.

A related question: is there a way to create a general momentum source on a point instead of a subdomain?

The documentation states momentum sources are not available on points. I am not sure why, but I suspect it becomes a convergence problem. So the simple work-around is to use a little volume and mesh it with a single element (which is what point source act on anyway, this is not a simplification) so you can use a normal volume source.

Yes, that's what Im doing at the moment. However, hexa meshing in icem becomes a real pain, and that's why I asked if someone knew a smart way around it.
