monte carlo radiation model

Hello sir,
In conjugate heat transfer problem i am using monte carlo (MC) radiation model.

For solid (Brick wall) domain i have selected
Thermal radiation -monte carlo
number of histories - 10000
Transfer mode - surface to surface
spectral model - Gray
Scattering model - none

For fluid(AIR) domain not selected any radiation model because air is transparent
to radiation.is this approach correct or i have to select radiation model for air domain also.and sir in CFX is it radiation depends on number of elements.

If the rays go through the domain then the domain need a radiation model to calculate the rays - even if they just go straight through.

Also - would this model work with the Discrete Transfer model? It is MUCH faster and easier to use, if it is appropriate.

Like Glenn said, The discrete transfer model sound like it would be more appropriate since the fluid medium is not involved here.

In fluent you can remove the tick mark from the options of "participates In Radiation" in the Cell Zone Conditions panel. This means that this particular fluid/solid zone is not participating in the radiation
