Hi guys,

I'm brand-new to this site and also to simulation. I'm gonna need to simulate a turbulent separation bubble and mean flow. Iwas reading about some approachs concerning to it and DES (Detached-Eddy Simulation) looks to be a good choice. At least better than using "just" RANS. What do you think about it?

Sorry about the errors I might have done with my english,

Queiroz

I presume you mean laminar separation bubble - http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/bubbles.htm You do not normally get turbulent separation bubbles.

You will not get a laminar separation bubble with a normal RANS model. You probably won't get it using DES either. The model to choose is the turbulence transition model - I have modelled laminar separation bubbles with this model successfully.
