Setting up turbogrid for single-bladed machine (not passage with periodics!)
Hi!
I'm modelling a single-bladed miniature axial turbine and i want to use turbogrid for it's good mesh. The problem is, when i set up ExportPoints to 1 blade set, turbogrid throws an error "blade set count must be more than 1". Is it possible to set up turbogrid for single-bladed machine? |
Apparently not.
Why is your gizmo single bladed? Do you like vibrations? |

Is it possible to build manually turbogrid-like mesh using ansys-meshing? or icem-cfd? or i just should use unstructured tetra of optimal size? |
I cannot see why less blades gives maximum performance. I am no turbo machinery expert so I will take your word for it.
I am also not very familiar with turbogrid so cannot say whether this is a fundamental limitation of turbogrid. It may well be, and it certainly looks like one. In that case you will simply have to use another meshing software. ICEM is the meshing tool which gives you the greatest control over the mesh, particularly in hexa mode. But all the meshing softwares you describe will probably generate an adequate mesh. |
