modeling flow around aerodynamic profile with using immersed solid

Hi everyone!
I try to modeling flow around aerodynamic profile with using immersed solid.
I did simulates with change:
- Momentum Sources (global) ( 7 to 50)
- Boundary Distance (0.7 to 3 mm for my mesh 0.5 mm )
and still nothing, the results (flow field and lift, drag force) are wrong.

How use immersed solid to aerodynamic simulation?

it is really important to have inflated meshes near wall boundaries.did you use this type of mesh ?

thank you for your answer
yes, i tried out several types of nets but still i can't observe good the boundary layer

What Re and/or Ma number is the flow? What y+ are you using?

yutangg June 11, 2013 13:17

it's a laminar flow 800 Re and y+ < 2

y+ has no meaning for laminar flows.

If this is a laminar model then you might be able to get this to work with immersed solids. It is likely to be quite grid sensitive - have you done a mesh sensitivity check?
