Hello,

during my MSc thesis I am interested in combustion chamber modeling in CFX. The biggest problem in my case is making the air flow swirly to obtain good mixing properties.

Due to that I am looking for nozzle/swirler geometry, is anybody who can share such geometry?

Thanks

Do you plan to model the swirler with CFD so you need the exact geometry of it, or do you intend to just model its effects (so the swirler can be replaced with a flow of specified velocity and direction)?

And surely the swirler geometry you should be interested in is the one which you are using on your experimental rig.

The best option I guess its model ist effect but it is very complicated.

Of course it is complicated, that is why you are doing a masters on it. But the skill of the CFD practitioner is to model it accurately enough to capture the essential physics while ignoring the non-essential detail.

I draw fan geometry in SW and I want attach it to the combustion chamber model, how to make it?

As I previously said, you can either include it in your simulation geometry and model it directly, or you can replace it with a flow which represents its effect, maybe jets of a defined flow velocity.

diamondx will become famous soon enough
May be this can do the job :

You will need to adapt it to your geometry, remove unnecessary parts in Designmoder, scale it if you need to. I opened it in Designmodeler, there is indeed a swirler at the tip. mesh it. I hope it can help

As a swirling element I used simple fan geometry and I am checking how it works now.
