Dear all
I did simulation for wind turbine rotor which contain from stationary and rotational domains
how can I check from the results that the big domain (stationary domain )size is suitable and have no bad effects on the simulation

Do another simulation with the stationary domain boundary twice the distance away. If it is not any different to your first case then your first case is fine.

You can also do this by halving the distance as well, providing that you think you are bigger than you need.

Hi,
I want to obtain Cp at different Tip speed ratios from my wind turbine simulation. can any body tell me how to specify a range of RPM from 100 to 200 rpm to obtain several values of Cp in a single simulations. Is it possible or I will have to run multiple simulations (i.e., one simulation for each rpm value).

Sorry for the incomplete information in the initial post. I am using Ansys CFX. I have found nothing like the "parametric setup" in the cfx tutorials. Although, a tutorial on parametric analysis is available in the Ansys fluent but those information are not helpful for the cfx simulation.

Yes, parametric analysis is what i tried referring to.. You've certainly missed something in the tutorials, as Parametric Analysis is independent of the module one uses (assuming you're using ANSYS Workbench)... have a look at some videos on the same, you would find it easier than you would imagine..
As a quick summary, in CFX-Pre the Angular Velocity has to be entered using an expression.. that expression could then be selected as Workbench Input Parameter... in CFX-Post the desired output variables could then be selected as Workbench Output Parameters..

Thanks for the reply. I will rephrase my question. I want to find out the power of my wind turbine at different rpm say at 100, 120, 140, 160 and 190 rev/mint. Can I do it in a single simulation or I will required multiple simulations one at each rpm.

You would have to run multiple simulations, each at a single RPM.. hence, a parametric setup would work out quite well for such scenario...

I also have the same problem. Kutan and Alejandro kindly tell me how you managed to solve this problem. Glenn, I have cross checked the list that you have referred but apparently, there is nothing wrong with this simulation. Almost every one in the wind turbine simulation have faced this problem but none has shared the solution to the problem. A solution to the problem will help a lot of forum members.
