does any one know how can i set output frequency to just save the results achieved in the final time step ?

Hi hmasenger,

For a regular transient analyses you can get CFX to output specific variables at specific time steps by double clicking on "Output Control" in the outline tree in CFX-Pre and adjusting the controls in the "Transient Results" tab. This is described pretty well in the "Output Controls" section of the CFX-Pre Users Guide.

But maybe your asking because this is not possible for an adaptive run?

Hope this helps,
Dave

If you just want to save the final time step then do not put any transient results files in the output tab of CFX-Pre, and make sure the results file settings are good. This is how results files are set up by default, so if it is anything else then you have changed it from the defaults.

hmasenger,

Glenn is correct. I forgot that CFX outputs the results from the final time step by default!

My bad,
Dave

A helpful feature in running like this, is to use Backup Results (Not Transient Results) every XX timesteps/time_interval also. This way when running a transient, and if it stops/crashes for whatever reason prior to the end, you have a startup point without restarting from 0.

The Backup Results will overwrite each other, saving only the last backup.
