Anisotropic Heat Transfer Setup Quesitons (WB 14.5)
Hi everyone, after spending considerable time searching I still require help for a simulation I am attempting on Workbench CFX 14.5. I will walk through what I've done so far to provide any potential help with as much info as possible.
I am attempting to setup a simple heat conduction simulation through a small square sample of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). My first issue was attempting to create an anisotropic material to represent the CFRP. I had found through these forums a .ccl that is supposed to work: Quote:
It displays an error that I was told could be suppressed because its only an issue with the GUI: Quote:
When I create a new domain, I select it's location and set it to a Solid Domain type. Then when I want to set the material, I may only choose from Aluminum, Steel or Copper in both the CHT Solids and Particulate Solids drop-down choices in the library [...] button. I had read on here that you may append the solution details in Post and replace the material with the Orthotropic material, but I wouldn't know the first thing about doing that. I hope somebody can help me with this, I feel that this is the only major roadblock to my simulation. |
Anybody?

When I generate a new material I just copy an existing one and edit it to the new properties. Simple.
CFX-Pre does not have the full CCL for some advanced models - this may be one example. If the solver accepts this and runs OK then all is good. |
