Default multiphase subdomain increasing mesh density

Hello to all,

in the cfx reference guide "CFX Best Practices Guide for Multiphase" there is an interesting advice for getting good results with multiphase flows:

"A technique to increase the mesh density in the region of a liquid-gas interface is to create a subdomain
which occupies the same region as the liquid (or gas) phase, and inflate the mesh in both directions from
the edge of the subdomain, as shown in
Figure 10.1 (p. 124). The inflation layers can increase the resolution

in the region of the interface and enhance the results."

Unfortunately there are no more informations.

Does anyone knows an example, a tutorial or another description showing the technique?
If not, has anyone experience with that and could explain how to do?

Thanks!

I have tried this but without much success. And as most of my free surface models have surface tension (which means you need 1:1 aspect ratio elements) and the free surface moves a lot I do not find this technique very useful.

So the described technique in the manual is only useful if the free surface does not move much, and if surface tension is nto being used.
