ParaSolid SW file import to CFX

Hi I am a mech. eng. student.

I have a project where I am simulating a membrane crossflow with a cheramic membrane. I would wont to simulate this in ANSYS CFX.

I am relatively new to CFD and have problems getting started. I have tried to import a parasolid geometri from Solidworks showing just one monotube, with respectively the substrate, first coat and a second coat layer plus the fluid within the tube.

My problem is that in Solidworks the 3 layers and fluid part merge into one which is how CFX is registrering it as well.

So how do I create a geometri of the membrane that has respectively a fluid part, a substrate layer and two coat layers.

I do not know how to create the geometri in CFX which is why I am trying the Solidworks option.

Hope that are someone that may be able to help.

Are they separate bodies in SolidWorks?

This sounds like a solidworks problem, not a CFX/ANSYS problem. Check that your geometry resolution tolerance is fine enough to resolve the features you are modelling.
