Hi,

Im a newbie on CFX or Fluent. But I have been using OpenFOAM one year. Now OpenFOAM cant deal with two-phase model on tet mesh. So I want to pick a commercial software to deal with my case. I wanna simulate gas hold-up on a mixing vessel. So which software can get the good result on this case?

I need your recommendation. thanks in advance.

Both CFX and Fluent can do this. Get a trial version of them both and see how they go for you.

Thank you Horrocks, Thats very clear. While, AFAIK, in two-phase simulation, the result can hardly dovetail with the experiment. I wanna know which software is more stable and with more models, such as PBM and drag models.

Best,

Yes, getting accurate results in multiphase simulations can be tricky. But with care it is possible for many classes of flows.

They both have extensive multiphase models. I recommend you look at the features list of both software and see what is relevant to your model. Because most of the features in the software will not be relevant to your model, so simple feature counts is not a good way of selecting software.

Im very new to these ANSYS softwares, could you please tell me where can I get "the features list of both software"?

Thanks again.
