question on phase change model

Dear all,

I am working on a melting-solidification model using CFX, but found the phase change material temperature won't drop below the specified melting point. I can't figure out what could be wrong.

I have also noticed that CFX uses a homegeneous binary model, allowing specification of single melting temperature only, while Fluent allows users to specify a range of melting temperature. I don't think this difference matters but would like to have your comments.

Your advise is highly appreciated!

CFX does not have a solidification model, so you are going to have to do some model development for this.

But if you cannot get the temperature to drop below the freezing point you have more fundamental problems than that. You obviously have to get the temperature low enough before anything happens.
