I have a CFX-Pre file and was wondering if it is possible to export geometry and mesh files so that changes to them can be made?

I am using ANSYS 14.0

Thanks,
Stuart

I think that the only file that can be exported from CFX is ccl. Geometry modification must be done in DM or external designer software

Thanks for your response.

Yes I know about exporting a .ccl file, however I am wanting to edit the geometry in DM within Workbench but don't see any way of exporting the current set up from CFX.

Anyone got a solution to this?

if it is linked (DM with CFX) via toolbox, then you can edit your geometry with DM and set up from CFX stays same

Hi,

The problem is that I only have the CFX-Pre file. I would like to transfer this into Workbench so that I can alter the geometry etc. but I don't know of any way that this is possible.

i don't think so because CFX works with mesh and because of different methods of meshing, some entities might be suppressed etc. At least I have never heard about this option
