Simulation Water and Oil URGENT problem
 
Hello all,

I have been working on a simulation involving water and oil for some moths and I always find a problem that do not leave me finish this simulation.

My problem is: I have an unique entrance, where only water enters. Than I have a box where water and oil coexist. As you might know the oil will be on the top of the water, because of the density difference and the viscosity difference as well.
Also in the bottom of my box, only water can goes out. So, what should I do to solve this? I have tried both transient and steady state, but I think the results should be the same in the end of this simulation.
I have tried some expressions in the Initialization, and also I have tried both Homogeneous and Non-homogeneous models, and I think this is a not specific problem of my meshing.
I hope you can help me on this issue.

First of all - if this problem is urgent then talk to ANSYS support. You pay them to respond urgently. Nobody is paid to respond here on the forum and we will respond in our own good time.

If the water/oil interface is distinct then this sounds like a homogenous multiphase model. If the water/oil mix a bit (even only along the interface) then maybe an inhomogenous model could work.

I would have a look at the water/air free surface tutorial examples which come with CFX to show you how to set this up.

Sorry if I bothered you writting that is "urgent". I could not imagine that someone will say something because of it. I have the sense that the quotes here are to help and to have an acerv of some common problems that everybody has. I repeat, I am really sorry about it. And thank you for lose your time helping me.
