Hi all.

I'm now simulating the transient flow field in a torque conveter, which is a closed turbomachine with one stator and two rotors.

In order to save time and memmory, I use a one-blade passages for all three components. I have two options for transient simulation - Transient and Transient Blade Row. Actually I have used both models and compared the outcome torques of torque converter, which showed good aggreement.

Here is my question: Can I apply transient solution for one-pitch blade model? What's the difference between transient model and transient blade row model?

Thanks in advance!
Cheng

Transient rotor stator is a full and direct transient model. Transient blade row is similar but does some magic on the interface to allow you to account for unequal pitches. As your two rotors probably have the same number of blades you should not need Transient blade row and they should be equivalent.

Thanks for your reply.

So if I have pitches near unit, I can use the transient rotor stator method? Otherwise I should use the transient blade row method?
