hi. i have a question.for modeling a pipe with material of shape memory alloy.what should i do?which software i use?in this problem we have fluid in pipe.and i want to analyse the pressure and stress to the pipe.can i use ansys fluent or cfx? dose cfx have library of shape memory alloy in materials for solid
plz answer

CFX and Fluent are CFD solvers. They solve fluid flow. ANSYS is a FEA solver. It solves the stress/strain equations in a solid body. What you are talkins about sounds like solid body so you are looking for ANSYS Mechanical. Try the ANSYS Mechanical forum for more information.

You can use FSI One Way analysis. First to solve fluid flow on pipe and on the next step You can transfer pressure data on pipe to Ansys Static Structural. And on that mode you can analysis a stress and strain on pie with pressure BCs from cfx

thanks for answering. i used the method said Martin_Sz and analysis the fluid in cfx and then transfer solution to static structural and define shape memory property for the pipe material.and then analysis the pipe.but i dont know whether the shape memory had any effect in my result?
dose it need anything extra in analysis setting to considered the shape memory effect?
