Fluid-Solid Interface for CHT simulation

Hey everyone,

for my ongoing university project I've come across some problems regarding a CHT simulation.
I'm trying to simulate heat transfer from the exhaust gas to the exhaust manifold using a test-bench setup in CFX.
Since I am doing the simulation for a "prototyped" exhaust manifold I can only use the mesh files I received from the university - I've no access to any geometry files.
My problem is that on the test bench, inlet and exhaust manifold are connected with a flange, that I am not able to remodel.
I wanted to model a fluid solid interface between the fluid zone and the exhaust manifold walls. However, since the flange is missing in my model, the fluid zone would have a part with no assigned solid zone around (I hope you get what I mean).
Would this still work or would the simulation fail?

Thanks in advance!

It should work fine. That would be a non-overlap area, and it would treat it as an adiabatic surface be default, but you can change the settings.
