Hi everyone

Previously I've simulated a FSI problem using CFX and Ansys Workbench. Now I want to add heat transfer to this problem, including both solid and fluid sides.
I have problem setting up this kind of simulation in the Workbench. There are some threads in this forum but they are very vague.
My problem is: 1st, connecting and arrangement order of the different blocks in Workbench (thermal, structural and fluid flow) and 2nd, I don't know how to create a FSI interface in thermal section so that heat flux and temperature could be exchanged via this surface. in other words, I don't know the appropriate thermal boundary condition for the fluid/solid interface in the solid side.

Has anyone done this befor?

hi,
I had this issue a few weeks ago.

I was trying to model a thermal exchange problem between fluid and solid (without any mechanical simulation). For that you can only use CFX in workbench with different domains (solid and fluid) and create an interface fluid solid and activate the heat transfer on this interface.
YTou will need only one box and do everything from CFX

If you want to model the heat transfert on a FSI problem which include Fluid and Mechanical problem, you have to create an mechanical bloc first. Then export the geometry and the case in a CFX block.
There are some expert parameter than you can activate to create the heat model inside mechanical (the guy from ansys support explained to me but i didn't understand everything)

I know that ansys have some tutorial of this (I have downloaded one with the support help) and a ppt ("CFX-FSI_14.5_WS04_ThermalStress_2Way")
unfortunately I can't upload it here but can send it by email

I hope it helps you
