Hello,
currently I am simulating an axial turbine with a pretty fine mesh (roughly about 23 million nodes and yplus below 1). The simulation is steady-state.
I used SST as turbulence model and had no difficulties with this simulation. As I want to compare these results with the Reynolds Stress models, I changed the turbulence model both to BSL Reynolds Stress and SSG Reynolds Stress model in CFX pre. I used the solution I got with SST as initial values.

Now my question: Both simulations failed to initialize and the .out-file shows the following error:

Error in subroutine GETCORE :

End of solution stage.

Unfortunately I have no idea what that means and I hope that you can help me. If you need further information, just let me know. Its my first post in this forum

Furthermore: do you have general advice for simulations with Reynolds stress models? I assume that I have to change more than just the setting "turbulence model" in CFX pre when I want to get results with Reynolds Stress.

Check the initial condition and boundary tabs after changing to RSM. There may be additional parameters you need to enter.

thanks for your reply

ok, I checked it, but honestly I have no idea, what to change.

I changed in every domain in the initialization tab the turbulence from 5% intensity to "Reynolds stresses and epsilon", but nothing changed and I got the same error...
Do I have to change the inlet and outlet boundary conditions as well to Reynolds stresses and epsilon?

So could you specify the error or tell me more exactly which settings I must choose?

Unfortunately modelling with RSM doesnt seem to be very common because I cant find that much in the cfx modelling guide

No, RSM modelling is not common. Few applications require it.

CFX-Pre will show you the parameters which need updating. If CFX-Pre says nothing then you should be good to go.

ok, but cfd pre said nothing, but I still got this error message.

Cant anyone say something about the error? Do you think that Ansys support might have an idea?

CFX has many very cryptic error messages. You have to guess what they mean half the time.

You could try ANSYS support.

Or you could try a few things to understand it a little more. If you start a RSM simulation with no result file as an initial condition (use one defined in the CCL) does it start OK?

Hello everyone, I would like to post my solution to the reported problem.

I was simulating flow of an incompressible fluid through part of some throttling element. The same error, which was observed by Niklas, was caused in my case by my serious mistake in the setup: basically, setting at the inlet the mass flow rate of roughly 5000 kg/s, I have set the pressure of domain of 1 atm. When I changed the reference pressure of the fluid domain to the realistic (expected) value, everything worked fine.

So, if anyone gets similar error, first, look for some seriously dummy setting somewhere within fundamental physics of your setup.
