Hi,
I am trying to simulate a reactive flow in a porous medium with varying porosity. My .def file was initially working, but I found that I had to use an opening boundary condition instead of outlet and a smaller time step to improve convergence. However, as soon as I change one of these things, I get the following error: +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Average Scale Information | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ Domain Name : Pores Global Length = 2.4248E-02 Minimum Extent = 1.0000E-03 Maximum Extent = 4.0999E-01 Density = 1.0600E+03 Dynamic Viscosity = 4.3155E-02 Velocity = 8.9544E-02 Advection Time = 2.7079E-01 RMS Courant Number = 1.0368E+00 Maximum Courant Number = 1.1076E+01 Reynolds Number = 5.3332E+01 Slave: 4 Slave: 4 Details of error:- Slave: 4 ---------------- Slave: 4 Error detected by routine MAKDIR Slave: 4 CDRNAM = INIT_MFLOIP Slave: 4 CRESLT = OLD Slave: 4 Slave: 4 Current Directory : /FLOW/SOLUTION/TSTEP102/CLOOP0/ZN1/BELG6/IP Parallel run: Received message from slave ----------------------------------------- Slave partition : 4 Slave routine : ErrAction Master location : RCVBUF,MSGTAG=1032 Message label : 001100279 Message follows below - : +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Stopped in routine MEMERR | | | | | | | | | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | An error has occurred in cfx5solve: | | | | The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. No results file | | has been created. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ End of solution stage. I can't find anywhere what this error means. I tried to adjust the memory allocation, but with no improvements. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Claudia |

CFX does have some very cryptic error messages.
I recommend you try this simulation serial. If that works you have a parallel problem. If that does not work you have a problem in your simulation setup. You say you changed the boundary condition type - that sounds like a good place to look for the error. |
