Shauny is on a distinguished road
Hey,

my name is shauny and this is my first thread here. I investigate the influence of the boundary layer on a centrifugal compressor flow passage. For this is calculated the boundary layer profile (total pressure in stn frame over normalized span) and provided it as a boundary condition at the Inlet. After simulation I wanted a hub to shroud profile at a certain streamwise location.

Problem: There are to little sample points in my boundary layer area so that I can't analyse the boundary layer profile.
Is there a possibility to get more sample points in this area?

I already tried the distribution modes "equal distance" and "mesh density based".
I also tried it with a contour plot and manual distribution but CFX Post limits the number of positions after the decimal points of the inserted radius to 7 (I'd like to have up to 11 positions if possible).
Polylines also have to little sample points.

The only thing which works is a "normal" line but it's difficult to analyse a straight line which do not lie completely in a curved turbosurface.

The mesh density is 6*10^-7 [m] at both the hub and the shroud.

I hope you can help me.

Best regards

Shauny

Can you show a picture of the problem? Are there too few sample points in the boundary you are applying or in the data you are extracting from your simulation?

6e-7[m] means your mesh is less than a micron. Are you modelling a tiny object? Otherwise your mesh sounds too fine. Please show a picture of your mesh as well.
