Ansys CFX: Theory Guide
 

Hi guys,

I am looking for a theory guide for ANSYS CFX, similar to "ANSYS Fluent: Theory Guide".

Currently, I am only able to find "Ansys CFX Solver: Theory Guide", which is not really what I am after. I need a guide, where physics of problems are described.

Your help is highly appreciated.

? You found the CFX theory guide. It explains the physics. There is no other theory guide.

What is not explained in the CFX theory guide?

I am actually looking for some theoretical explanation about connection two solid domains for a heat transfer problem. I would like to find a particular section in ANSYS CFX manual.

Have you ever seen something like that in Theory Guide, as I couldn't find it?

I made a simulation, where two solid domains were connected using a domain interface in ANSYS CFX. I chose a General Connection as an interface Model, with the thermal contact resistance set to zero. Therefore, each domain has the common interface as a boundary condition.

Currently, I am writing a report, where I am explaining physics of the chosen model. However, I would like to see how exactly does ANSYS describes such kind of problem, so I can use similar terms in my report.

Hope it explains my intention to find another theory guide besides the Solver Theory Guide, which, as I can see, does not have this information.

As I said, the theory guide contains all the theory which is made public. There is no other theory guide. You should also be aware that CFX is commercial software and therefore its owner (ANSYS) does not disclose all details about how the software is implemented so it can continue to sell its product. Having said that, the theory manual describes most things and it at least outlines the main process used to model everything in the software - and that includes interfaces.

Section 3.2 in the theory guide describes interfaces.
