Normalized residuals

Hello,

I don't understand very well the explanation on the normalization of residuals in CFX ? Can somebody please explain it to me ?

Thank you

What do you not understand about the residual normalization ? The concept of normalization of residuals (why they are better than raw residuals), or the details of how to obtain them. The former is explained in the ANSYS CFX documentation, and the latter is proprietary information of ANSYS as interpret the following statement from the documentation

The exact calculation of ap and is not simple and is not presented here

What is exactly raw residuals ? That is a question that I had to ask myself when I read the user's guide.

I don't understand how the normalization is done, the weighted function ? Because in an other CFD software, the residuals are normalized to the maximum residual in the first five iterations.
