Hi,

I have obtained solution of cylinder. Here I used FLUENT udf to identify/visualize the regions of viscous and shock effects. In fluent post processing, I am clearly observing these regions. When I imported same .cas and .dat file to CFX post, am not able to find these regions.. Is it possible to link fluent udf to CFX post? If so then how it is done?

Thanks in advance

No, you cannot directly link a Fluent UDF to CFD-Post.

But you can get the UDF to set a simulation variable which you write to the results file. You can view that in CFD-Post. Or you might be able to do the same calculation which is done in the UDF in CFD-Post.

Thank you for the reply..

Can you explain little bit more as how it is done?

In fluent, write the UDF result to a user variable. Make sure the user variable is in the output file. Then you can see it in CFD-Post.

In the cas and dat file itself the results of udf are present.. Do I need to take out the separate solution data from the fluent? and User variable means separate dat file for the results of udf?

Please lead me

If the results of the UDF are present in the cas and dat files then can't you visualise that?
