Hello all,

I am an Ansys beginner who has been trying to do some tutorial examples with this software. I have been able to run the software successfully to model my problem. However I have not been able to use the option "Save Picture" in CFX-POST to output the image file of the model I processed. Also the button called "Publish" which allows a report of the simulation to be output as HTML file, also does not work. In the save file window, it shows that a file is created but when I check the same folder in windows explorer, the file does not exist. I have already checked whether I have set any file to "hidden" mode.

However, it is possible to get the Picture as output from CFX-Pre without any trouble.

Could someone please help me to solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance.

It is puzzling, isn't it? I think "save picture" just puts a picture in the report, so when you produce a report that picture is included.

The option you are looking for is "save image to file". This saves the current display to an image immediately.

Yes it is puzzling! I have been stuck with this problem for a while now. The problem is that the file saved from Post processing software is not really saved in the hard disk. I checked whether the hard disk is write-protected, but it is not.
Any body knows why this could happen?

My previous post explained what is happening. "Save Image" just puts an image in the report which gets generated when you generate a report. It does not save an image to disk immediately. "Save Image to File" is the option to save the image to file immediately.

Thank you for your reply. But the problem is not solved.
I have checked thoroughly, but I do not see a "Save Image to File" option in Ansys 15 CFD-CFX. There is an option to publish a report, but this only produces an output file when I have not done any simulations.

Oops, I got mixed up between ANSYS Mechanical and CFD-Post. The option I was talking about is in ANSYS Mechanical.

In CFD-Post the option you are looking for is under the File menu - "Save Picture".
