force and rigid body

hi
i have a rigid body and i want to give it an external force in x direction and external torque too.
but an external torque , rotates my rigid body and the question is here.which direction does the force apply to rigid body?
actually i want to apply force in the lenght of rigid body direction at any time. (my problem is transiant)

Three are three components of force. Give the component which is along your required direction!
