Hi, all

i'm trying to model a simple 'fan' which is used in convective baking oven.

I try to follow the 'cfx manual for flow in an axial trubine stage', but it was to complicated and not enough for explanation.

I just want to find the result of flow outlet by the fan.

Air flows toward the fan middle point in and flows out to side direction (90 degree), not backward

In this situation, i want to know the out flow information(only velocity) in 'vector form' because i'm going to apply this velocity information to another simplified fan modeling (just taking velocity profile information)

It would be a lot of help if anyone could recommend solution in here or provide reference that can be refered.

Also i tried MRF method but it i can'y find much more easy and qualified tutorial to follow. Is there any reference about MRF mtehod, please talk to me.

P.S. Error generated in attaching image so sorry for no image.

Thank you.

If you are just using the fan to generate flow in the convective oven and the details of the flow in the fan are not important then use a momentum source term to generate the flow. Then you can add the same momentum as the fan to the flow, but you do not need to model the details of the fan (blades, passages etc).

Or do you want to know the detailed flow inside the fan?

An easier way (to me at least) is to use an outlet at the fans suction side, and an inlet at the discharge side. Make the temperature at the inlet "massFlowAve(Temperature)@FanSuction"

I always found the momentum source to be numerically unstable and required small timesteps or it would blow up.
