KeganLeckness is on a distinguished road
Hi all,

I'm looking to model the eardrum's response to an acoustic pressure waveform. Since the frequency domain cannot be investigated in CFX I must do this analysis in the time domain.

My problem is that the amplitude of the applied sinusoidal does not approach an asymptotic value, as expected.

My setup is as follows:
`The ear canal has a F-S interaction on the right. A waveform of the form P=A*sin(_omega_*t) [Pa] is applied to the entrance of the canal - Opening was chosen.
`Compressible air is chosen
`Transient simulation
`Three monitor points are set up

I'm trying to use this CFX/ANSYS analysis to mimic previous successful analyses conducted in the frequency domain in APDL. The problem I'm having (as pictured) is that the amplitude near the eardrum increases and then decreases. Although pressure IS supposed to increase nearer to the eardrum, I expect the amplitude to remain constant amplitude - as the input amplitude does.

Can anyone help by telling me how to model a harmonic wave in the time domain when such phenomenon occur?
For OME 3.PNG

For OME 1.PNG
Thanks,
Kegan
