CFX & Transient structural

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I need your help, I have a plate that vibrates in a flow , The plate is created by transient structural and the flow is simulated by CFX, It is a two- way FSI. Reynolds number is based on diameter and is 100, I want to calculate the mean velocity of fluid over a plate that vibrates in a flow. In CFD Post the velocity around of the plate while the plate is oscillating is zero, Is there any one to help me? I want to the flow feels the plate but in this way the flow cant see the plate and also there is no vortex.

The no slip condition says that the flow next to the plate has a velocity of zero (relative to the plate). The solver is returning the correct value.

So you need to think up a more physically realistic parameter to measure.

Thanks for your helping, So if I want to see the fluid velocity near the plate how can I simulate this case, I think this is look like a flutter, can I use Transient Structural with CFX ?

Not sure, but if you check your setup for the boundary conditions on the plate, you may find out that the mesh motion is not stationary, and you are enforcing No Slip Wall with Wall Velocity Relative to the Mesh Motion

If that is the case, you will see 0 velocity of the fluid. You may want to see then the Mesh Velocity instead.

Hope the above helps

Thanks for your helping, I saw the Mesh Velocity and all the domain has 0 velocity!!
