water mass exchange in solid

Hi to everyone,

I try to set up a model to simulate the water removing from solid body (eg. potato or other kinds of solid foods). In CFX tutorial i find only a water removing process from a liquid mixture.
Anyone as already done a model like this? What kind of domain i must set up?

thanks

M

First approximation here, there may be a more proper way to do it:
I would model the water as an additional variable (a scalar). Then you would use a solid domain for the solid, and define the diffusivity of water in the solid. The water would be removed at the interface, and transported as an additional variable in the fluid domain, you would define the molecular diffusivity in the fluid as well.
I'm not sure if/how you would include Henry's constant (or the analogous law), if that is needed.

thank evcelica for the answer.

How can i set up a scalar in this case? I'm new in Ansys and i don't know well.

Search for "Additional variable" which should be in the tutorials. I don't recall the exact buttons to click off the top of my head.
