Naphthalene Sublimation Technique

Hello Everyone

I am studying the Heat/Mass transfer analogy, I want to validate the mass transfer numerical model against experimental data

I would like to know whether CFX can simulate the naphthalene sublimation technique ?

Thanks in advance :)

It depends on what you want to simulate. What are you trying to learn from the simulation?

ghorrocks Thank you for your help

I would like to simulate a coated surface of solid naphthalene phase on turbine blade and the air free stream to develop a forced mass diffusion of naphthalene vapor in air ... I need to know the depth of the surface of naphthalene that diffused in the air during the simulation and then obtain the local mass transfer coefficient and thus the non-dimensional Sherwood number

Thanks again for your help :)

Wow, I hope you are a CFD expert. You are going to need to be to do a complex simulation like that.

It would be much easier to get these parameters from a physical experiment. Why do it by CFD? You are going to have to validate the CFD against a physical experiment anyway, so what does the CFD add to this?

We are studying the Mass/Heat analogy where we can obtain the convective heat transfer coefficient (H) from the mass transfer experiment We already have the experimental results of this analogy, we need to confirm it using CFD
